Complementary Eco-Friendly Money Saving Products to Complete Your Secondary Glazing or Insulation
CosyHome offer a range of additional energy saving products and services that are designed to enhance and complement the benefits of draught proofing, loft insulation and secondary glazing, whilt saving you money. Services include:
Loftzone Storefloor loft flooring
A unique new system that allows the construction of a rapid-build, light weight, high-strength loft floor above a 300mm thickness of loft insulation allowing you to store your suitcases in the loft without reducing thermal
Wall reflectors that slide down behind the radiators to prevent heat being absorbed into the walls and estimated to reduce energy use by 7% - with a low installation cost.• Sloping ceiling insulation – Thermal laminate boarding consisting of a high efficiency insulation board with plasterboard glued to it that is screwed to the underneath of sloping ceilings in attics and bedrooms and then plastered over. This solves the problem of sloping ceilings that usually have little or no insulation above them and cause a high degree of heatloss.
High specification windows
Offered as part of a larger insulation installation only, we specify, supply and fit very high specification replacement wooden double-glazed windows all made in EU sustainably grown oak for a very long lifespan, with a high specification 4-16-4, low-e, argon-filled double-glazed unit for maximum thermal efficiency and visually designed for minimal frame and maximum glazed area to match existing period
In season we offer our highly skilled craftsmanship for restoration of doors and windows, usually only in conjunction with a CosyGlazing installation. We use reclaimed timbers such as Douglas Fir and Pitch Pine, EU sustainably grown oak cills and marine techniques especially epoxy resins which bond phenomenally well with timbers and give partially decayed windows back their original lifespan – which is usually over 100 years. We often meet customers who have been told to replace their windows because they are too decayed and we find we can restore them replacing only 10-20% of the timber at around 1/3rd of the cost of a quality new hardwood window. Restoration is favoured by English Heritage because it preserves the very high quality old timbers, beautiful old glass, and retains the look and feel of an old property which is often detracted from even when replacing with wood windows.
